More a question about SEOFOMO itself, but since there’s no way to provide website feedback… what is supposed to be the difference??

“Search Releases” would mean any official release from search engines. For example, Google releases a new feature, service, etc.
“Search Updates” on the other hand means any updates related to Google Search or product.
And what is an “update related to google search” that is NOT a “release”?? If you want algorithm/feature releases, then call it that!
I know it’s just my autistic brain throwing a tantrum, but this one is genuinely driving me up the wall.
I can understand the frustration. I believe the goal is that only the official releases would be classified as “Search Releases”. For example, Google recently released a new guideline for differences between Google Search Console and Google Analytics. This could come under “Search Releases”.
“Search Updates” are anything else that is related to Google (or other search engines) but they’re not an official release. For example, Barry Schwartz wrote the article “Google Confirms Review Count Issue – Working On Fix”. This is something that can be called an “update” because it’s not an official release of a product/feature.
